One baby was strapped on my back while one crawled inside the playpen. I stayed up all night days over months of sanding, and stripping wallpaper and with just one child. Ha! We were getting closer to finishing, but it was still a long way off. The project would require the time, energy, and of course my favourite shopping experience to furnish this house. To keep within budget, I began by taking my sons to estate sales in search of diamonds. It was our weekly routine to walk around garage sales and auctions on Saturday and Sunday and purchase a range of old pieces and new constructed. It was my job to spend the day in the driveway working on painting or sanding. My passion for restoration of furniture began with a look that was similar to this. The issue was not whether our house had already been equipped. In the market in town I was able to rent a tiny area and then sold a few pieces. I eventually had numerous pieces that I did not think of a solution and outgrew the space. More than 1000 people came to my house in one weekend to buy all the things on the ground. My venture Growing Days began here. When my business grew as did our family. The balance between work and family was crucial for me. I wished to balance being a mother as well as a business owner who was successful. Growing Days just fit. It was in 2013 when my lovely daughter Nora came along our 4th kiddo. Though I was content about the direction my company was taking, I realized that I was in need of a little break. I took some time away from vintage furniture to spend some quality time with my kids. That was exactly what I was looking for at the time. However, after just a couple of minutes I began to hear my phone to ring. There were calls from people asking me to assist them in interior decor and home renovations. A majority of these were people who had been through my home during the open house for furniture! While I was working I added new clients one by one. However, it didn't take that long before I was managing multiple clients and ran a profitable home improvement business. When you first told me about my business in home renovation, I laughed. Actually I still kind of smile when I think about it.
