Katherine Heigl has opened herself about her experience of being born into the "white bubble" and how the realisation has impacted how she raises her adoptive multiracial children. She was in the movie "Firefly Lane", revealed to a reporter that it didn't matter how dark her skin color was for her. However, after meeting her Korean-American adopted older sister, she realised the distinction in the way people took care of her. "I wanted to know Meg how she was that she was treated differently when going out with our parents and those who went out by herself. She responded "Oh sure! Every all the time!" Heigl explained to Parents: "That was when I discovered how naive I made me feel." She said that she was upset and believed it was crucial to put her anger towards helping her adoptee daughters. Heigl, who has been with Josh Kelley for 13 years they have a son Joshua Bishop Kelley Jr. The couple's daughter Nancy Leigh was adopted from South Korea by the couple in 2009; Adalaide is a Black 8-year-old girl adopted in the year 2012.
